Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Intrusive
thoughts take hold of my hand, and
lead me across the street where
shades who are, and have yet to be
sing
ring-around-the-rosy whilst
dancing in the daylight—
so bold have they grown to
stray away from night.
What medicine exists
this
side of death that can save me?
Every day I armor myself in
quest for wellness.
See the fire in my footprints.

I’ve not seen the footprints, but the fire in your words, yes.

Kindra… oh my. Are you also a sufferer? You can know someone for so long yet know so little of what you have in common D: This was wonderful, merciless writing.

Thank you, Henna. Yes, this is my life. And you’re right. I’m just now realizing how little I know of those whom I admire. ❤

I can relate very hard. It was hell for me until I got medicated. I also love the Ring around the Rosies reference. I used to compare OCD to the plague too. All the strength to you!

Impressive! You perfectly encapsulated the idea of how this disorder affects people in their daily lives. I know several people that suffer from this, and these are the kinds of posts that give them strength & hope to continue.

Oh, my gosh! Thank you so much. ❤ It means everything to me to make connections with others. I don't want anyone to feel alone.
